20.8 Œuvres comparatives

Le troisième mouvement de la Symphonie N°1 de Gustav Mahler, utilise comme mélodie principale le célèbre thème de la chanson enfantine "Frère Jacques". Ce thème est présenté par un violoncelle, jouée en canon par le basson, puis les instruments se rajoutent au fur et à mesure en un grand canon. Le hautbois rajoute un petit contrechant sautillant dans l'aigu.
